How not to waste time in meetings
How not to waste everyone’s time in weekly team meetings.
Not this:
“Let’s go around and give updates.”
This instead:
“How did we do last week?” (with data)
“What’s getting in our way?”
“To hit our targets, what needs to happen this week?”
Routine meetings should drive tactical execution.
Start with results.
Surface obstacles.
Align on the week ahead.
But note: If there’s a bigger roadblock that can’t be addressed in the week, capture that too. Add it to a list of issues to prioritize and tackle over time.
