Reinforce what you want repeated

Hard work that goes unnoticed slowly disappears.

Not this:

(thinking it)

“They know they did a great job.”

This instead:

(saying it)

“I saw the extra effort you put into that. It made a difference.”

People repeat what gets recognized.

It takes five seconds to smile and say thank you.

But it can mean everything to the person who hears it.

Better yet, make sure everyone on the team knows that high performers are seen and appreciated.

Take note of those around you who go above and beyond, and create routines and systems that celebrate great work, out loud, for all to see.
